Some devices are now using HEIC as the default format for their camera apps.  While this format has higher compression, it is still not supported by the vast majority of devices.  This makes sharing photos with non Apple-users more complex.  We will be implementing a converter in the coming months to help facilitate sharing photos that are taken in HEIC (converting them to JPEG automatically).

In the meantime, we recommend turning off this setting on Apple devices.

  1. Go to “Settings” and scroll down. Find “Camera” and tap on it.
  2. In the opened tab, click on “Formats”.
  3. Now you can choose the format “Most compatible”: this will turn off HEIC.
